Open thread - 11/14/09 get-together planning

You may use this post (via the comments section) to coordinate any potluck planning, or to arrange for rides/carpools/designated drivers, or to plan other weekend activities.

I am pleased to announce that Time Bandits (featuring: Steve Barth, Mallory Condrath, Vince Condrath, Rob DeVitis, Mark Nicholas, Nita Slater, and Rick Wegman) will be performing for us beginning at ~9 PM.

Because there will not be food service available that evening, we'll make this a potluck event. The standard guideline that my tailgating buddies and I have used for years is: think of something that you would like to have, and bring some to share. [If anybody is interested in pairing up with others to prepare something more extravagant than Unique Pretzels and Tastykakes (dibs!), I have set up an open thread on this site for you to discuss potluck planning (and/or arrange carpooling) (and/or discuss other weekend plans) on line. [I'll also be happy to help coordinate people's efforts -- just keep me in the communications loop.]

Beverage service will be available at SCAA.

This is a no-host, no-RSVP, potluck event. Stop by, and stay for 20 minutes or for several hours to visit with classmates and other friends.

While I don't need a firm commitment from you as to whether you'll be able to join us, I would appreciate a reply indicating your likelihood of attending the get-together, so that I might (a) send out a teaser/reminder email in a few weeks, including a "look who's coming" list, and (b) try to assure that we are not over-represented by, say, baked bean casserole, and under-represented by ring bologna.
